I recently set up a meeting with the “Godfather” of the Omaha Zombie scene to get his blessing on an event that I wanted to organize. After some pleasant small talk I had one question that had to be answered: “So Eric…do Zombies golf?”

His answer? “Indeed they do.”

So here we go! Brains and beer…on a golf course! The 1st Annual Zombie Scramble is Saturday, May 19th at Valley View Golf Course in Fremont.

This is a four-person best ball scramble. Dress like a zombie and grab your golf clubs. To sign-up log onto www.zombiescramble.com

If you don’t golf we still want your undead presence. There will be prizes for best Zombie Costumes (Best Male, Best Female, Sexiest, Strangest). DJ Mitt Zombnie will be spinning freakish tunes and there will be Zombieoke (that would be karaoke for zombies). Cash prizes for the top golf teams (we’ll have a flight for zombies and one for humans). Great pin prizes on every hole, too! (Zombie stuff from Legend Comics and tickets to “Evil Dead: The Musical”…just to name a few!)

Hey…it’ll be halfway to Halloween. And more importantly, it’ll be halfway to the Omaha Zombie Walk. Let’s have a party! There is no cover charge for spectators. Everyone is welcome….in costume…or not! The tournament starts at 1:00 pm, (one o’clock p.m.), and the pin prizes and Zombieoke will take place sometime after 5pm (just depending on how many teams we have). The costume contest will be a bit later. Check out this site as we get closer to the event and we’ll have more details and exact times for you.

This event is a benefit for Wear Yellow Nebraska. Wear Yellow Nebraska…Uniting Nebraskans in the FIGHT against cancer!
